This project is designed to bring the community together and provide for the neighborhood. The community needs this center, just as this center needs the community. The landscape zones speak to their immediate context as axes are drawn connecting the nearby park, academy, and bus terminal. The program is divided considering sun exposure, neighboring adjacencies, and structural elements. A fluid learning environment is achieved as classrooms face the South facade with direct access to the garden beds outside. A covered garden trellis creates a protected exterior patio. Greenhouses rest on the second floor terrace making use of optimal sunlight exposure and irrigation from the rain water collection off the angled roofs. These features, along with the layered facade and public market spaces, come together and create a nest for the community.
