Community Development Through Existing Vacancies.

The community of Homewood, PA is home to a vast amount of vacant land that is currently underutilized. There remains great potential in this vacant land that can improve the ecological well being of this neighborhood and provide space for education, relaxation, and recreation. Through the use of these existing vacancies, a language can be developed to define the spaces on this site in order to tie the community together.

This community and project taught me about just how I can use my degree in architecture to help others in ways I never thought possible. The potential and impact that design has on a community can be not only positive but also life altering.
